In the village of Vorsivka, a few hours northwest of Kyiv, parishioners of St. Nicholas have broken with their priest and voted to transfer the sanctuary from the Moscow-based Russian Orthodox Church to the newly formed Ukrainian Orthodox Church – a decision denounced as “a sin” by some, but, by others, as the only possible response to a country with which they are at war.
