Golos, an independent vote-monitoring movement in Russia, was labeled a "foreign agent" by the government just a month before the country's parliamentary elections. Kremlin critics see the designation as a way to hinder the work of organizations the government does not like. Undaunted by the label, members of Golos conducted a training session for volunteer election observers in Yekaterinberg ahead of the voting.
