A crowd of Czechs marked the 50th anniversary of the Soviet-led invasion of Czechoslovakia with a protest outside the Russian embassy in Prague. They gathered to hear speeches denouncing Russia and current President Vladimir Putin, while displaying slogans such as: "In Truth is Freedom" and "Europe Is Our Home." In 1968, tanks crushed what was known as the "Prague Spring" -- the attempt by Czechoslovak Communist Party leader Alexander Dubcek to introduce liberal reforms.
