The protests that broke out on August 9-10, 2020 over Belarus' official presidential election results launched the longest period of civil disobedience in the country's history. But, with tens of thousands of detentions, arrests, and departures abroad, the struggle to overcome what many Belarusians consider a falsified election has left deep scars. Current Time spoke with three Belarusians who joined the election protests at their start, when hope for political reform ran strong.
