Azerbaijan has pledged that it will investigate the shelling of Shushi's (Shusha's) Holy Savior Cathedral, the town's main Armenian Apostolic church. Street celebrations broke out across Baku, the Azerbaijani capital, on November 8, 2020 after President Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan's army had retaken Shusha (Shushi). Azerbaijan lost control of the town more than 28 years ago, in May 1992.
