After nearly two months of protests over rejected candidate registrations in Moscow, Russian officials had a stake in making sure voters turned out for the country’s September 8 local and regional elections.
Some district councils in the Russian capital opted for fun and games. In St. Petersburg, the country’s second largest city, Current Time spotted a military escort for cadets and, in at least one polling station, a camera to watch the voting.
